There is no perfect way to parenting. We all find our way by trying & analyzing what works best for our family ecosystem. However, a children's ecosystem includes parents, grand-parents, teachers, friends and any other care-giver who spends a considerable amount of time with a child & influences their actions, behaviour & beliefs. Parenting becomes a little tricky especially when you land up in a new country in trying to understand and establish your ecosystem there. I am one such Expat Parent from Luxembourg who would discuss relevant parenting issues on this podcast one topic at a time.

In this episode of the Expat Parenting Show, we have an engaging conversation with Vaishali Naik, a dedicated teacher, an active member of the Indian and Marathi communities in Luxembourg, and a passionate parent.

We'll dive into Vaishali's journey as an expat parent and what led her to settle in Luxembourg. Discover her motivation for choosing a career in education and hear about her prior experiences before becoming a teacher.

As someone deeply involved in the Marathi community, Vaishali shares her reasons for forming this community and how she brings her children closer to their home culture.

We'll explore how her children associate with Indian culture and their reception towards its various aspects.

From the dual perspective of a teacher and a parent, Vaishali offers valuable advice on what expat parents should prioritize when selecting a schooling board or curriculum for their children in Luxembourg.

We'll discuss the challenges and rewards of raising children while working as a teacher, including personal anecdotes that illustrate these experiences.

Drawing from Stephen Covey's "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," we'll reflect on the paradigm shift from control to purpose in parenting, with Vaishali providing her perspective on this from interactions with parents at school.

Tune in for an insightful and heartfelt discussion that sheds light on the educational opportunities and ecosystem in Luxembourg, helping expat parents make informed decisions for their families.
