The 2025 Miami GP delivered an electrifying weekend as Oscar Piastri claimed his third straight victory, cementing his status as the front-runner in this year's championship. Starting fourth on the grid, the McLaren driver overtook Max Verstappen on lap 14 and never looked back, securing a dominant win. Teammate Lando Norris recovered from an early off to finish second, giving McLaren a commanding one-two finish, while Mercedes’ George Russell rounded out the podium.
Max Verstappen, despite starting on pole, struggled with strategy and slipped to fourth. Williams’ Alex Albon delivered one of the surprise performances of the weekend with an impressive fifth-place finish, signaling the team’s growing competitiveness.
Tensions ran high at Ferrari as Lewis Hamilton voiced his frustration with team strategy after finishing behind teammate Charles Leclerc in eighth. Both drivers questioned the team's decisions, highlighting ongoing challenges for the Scuderia.
After this race, Piastri extends his championship lead to 131 points, with Norris close behind at 115. McLaren also takes a commanding lead in the Constructors' standings. Up next: Imola, where the rest of the grid will try to stop the McLaren momentum.
