In 3×16, “Illuminated,” the power’s out, but the drama is very much on. Special Agent Douchebag (McCall) drags our heroes in for way too many questions, Stiles finds a mysterious extra key, and Kira is running an evidence-lockup heist for her phone.

Across town, Isaac gets attacked by scary shadow monsters, Chris Argent stays frustratingly tight-lipped, and Derek disappears from his loft for “unknown reasons” (citation: Teen Wolf Wiki). But let’s be honest: what this episode is really remembered for is the glowing, neon-soaked blacklight party—conveniently relocated to Derek’s loft thanks to the magic of plot. While the pack gets hunted by faceless smoke monsters, we’re treated to a technicolor fever dream of body paint, flashing lights, and one of the best versions of the Teen Wolf theme song ever (shout-out to The Bloody Beetroots).
