Caravane Earth; retrieving traditional knowledge of Al Sadu textiles amongst Bedouin women weavers in Qatar. Part 1

In this very special episode Emma interviews Farah Al Yasin, Head of Creative Residency at Caravane Earth, a Foundation in Qatar that promotes Social, Cultural and Ecological transformation. Farah works with 49 Bedouin women weavers and shares how the values and mission of the Foundation drew her to this work, how this work goes beyond the individual and is part of something significant. A movement for people with purpose. She takes us through the need to return to a simple approach to creation and how Caravane Earth are not reinventing the wheel, rather they are retrieving traditional knowledge and skills and paying tribute to makers and artisans. And how going into the local community has enabled this retrieval and how it has also created a local, transparent and readily available value chain.
