Elle was one of the first writers I discovered and was inspired by when I got on twitter and began to find a bunch of writers publishing great work independently. It means a lot to me that she took some time to share thoughts on her life and newest book. Topics include: Nostalgia for the early 00s pre-corporate social media internet and how this informed her new book Gag Reflex, writing about mental health in a meaningful way over many years and artistic projects, how to write authentically in the voice of characters that are very different from you, among many other topics and tangents.
