How to Prioritize Your Life in 2026
As we approach a new year, many believers reflect on how to best order their lives. This message explores the biblical concept of prioritization, guiding us to align our relationships, resources, roles, and responsibilities. In a world that constantly pulls us in too many directions, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, believing that everything is equally important. However, if everything is a priority, then nothing truly is, leading to a sense of being stuck or not making progress on what matters most. Drawing from scriptures like Ecclesiastes 12:13, Matthew 22:37-38, and Colossians 1:15-18, the sermon clarifies that our singular, preeminent priority must be our sacred relationship with God. All other "provided resources"—our time, money, energy, attention, talents, and even our jobs—are to be stewarded through this relationship. These resources then sufficiently fill our "primary roles" as spouses, parents, and ministers, as outlined in Ephesians 5:22-25, Psalms 127:3, and 2 Corinthians 3:6. Finally, "peripheral responsibilities" such as career, friends, and hobbies receive the overflow, requiring sacrifice to ensure primary roles are not neglected, as encouraged by 1 Corinthians 10:31. This framework helps believers intentionally order their lives, ensuring that Christ maintains preeminence in all things and that God-given responsibilities are fulfilled effectively. Watch the full message to gain a deeper understanding of biblical prioritization for the coming year.
