God often brings us to places where we must depend entirely on Him, stripping away our illusions of control. Elijah’s story in 1 Kings 17 shows that God sometimes dries up one source to direct us to another, even if it seems unlikely or uncomfortable, like a poor widow supplying his needs. Through obedience, both Elijah and the widow experienced God’s ongoing provision, proving His supply never runs out. Finally, in the widow’s darkest moment, God revived her son, showing His unmatched power over life and death, and reminding us that He alone is worthy of our complete trust.
