How much do you know about the colony of New York? How did the sons of liberty have so much influence in the colonies? What happened in New York City on the day The Stamp Act went into effect? On today’s episode of Founded we’re finding out about what happened in NYC on stamp day and the people in power that day. Often considered to be a colony that remained loyal the longest, lagging behind in the revolutionary movement, New York helped to lead the way early in the revolution. The sons of liberty in NY were great at organizing, much to the Lt Governor’s chagrin. Key Players: Cadwallader Colden: Lt Governor, and acting governor of New York.
