He translated numerous spiritual works into English, including the Life of St. Seraphim of Sarov, the Psalter, the Ladder of Divine Ascent, and the first English edition of the Jordanville Prayer Book. An English convert to the Orthodox Church, he fulfilled his childhood calling to serve in the ministry of the Church and bearing witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, labouring on four continents and living twenty years in India.
