On today’s episode, Part 1 of “The Storm Inside”, Renee shares about a time in her twenties when she pushed herself outside of her comfort zone and agreed to join a sailing expedition from Spain to Thailand. Renee hadn't any sailing experience and everything that could go wrong did...and in terrifying fashion.

She bravely faced; a health crisis, serious mechanical failures, the threat of pirates, insect swarms and a category five cyclone.

This adventure at sea turned into a journey of the soul as Renee was forced, not only to deal with the elements and other incidents beyond her control, but face the deeply buried trauma of sexual assault and finally find the strength to break her silence and reclaim her power.

This interview is based on her recently released memoir, "I Want To Go Home: Reclaiming Power After Sexual Assault”.
