New Trier High School junior Zoey Alzate went to Washington, D.C., in late February as part of the American Jewish Committee’s Leaders for Tomorrow program. 

 In our conversation, we spoke about rising antisemitism in high schools since Oct. 7, 2023, and her recent experience lobbying for the Holocaust Education and Antisemitism Lessons Act (HEAL) Act on Capitol Hill.
