Why This Podcast Exists
Hello, and welcome to Golf in Balance.
If you’re looking for swing tips or the latest quick fix, this probably isn’t your show. There are plenty of places for that. This podcast exists for something deeper—and more lasting.
Golf has a way of exposing us. It shows us how we handle pressure, frustration, expectation, failure, and success. Long before it’s about score, it’s about who we are when things don’t go as planned. And sooner or later, every golfer reaches a point where technique alone isn’t enough.
That’s where this podcast begins.
I’m Blain Bertrand. I’m a PGA Golf Professional, a U.S. Army veteran, and I’ve spent over three decades teaching the game. I’ve seen talented players struggle not because they lack skill, but because they lack steadiness. I’ve lived it myself.
Golf in Balance is about developing the inner skills that support a reliable game—clarity of direction, emotional control, honest reflection, and personal responsibility. These aren’t theories. They’re practices. And they show up one shot at a time.
In this podcast, we’ll talk about golf as a kind of ceremony—a place to slow down, to pay attention, and to return to center after every miss. We’ll talk about pressure, routine, trust, aging, identity, and the moments when the game asks more of us than we expect.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about staying upright in the round you’re playing—and in the life you’re living.
In January, we’ll begin with a full first season, exploring these ideas in practical, grounded ways you can take straight to the course. Short episodes. Clear thinking. No hype.
If you’ve ever felt that golf is trying to teach you something—and you’re ready to listen—you’re in the right place.
I’m glad you’re here.
