Chronic Invisible Illness - Jennifer Smallridge

Hi legends,

Join me as I interview the wonderful Jennifer Smallridge. Jennifer is an Exercise Physiologist who has a special interest in the management and care for people living with chronic invisible illnesses. She is passionate about helping people get the support that they need, and advocating for change in this space. Her treatment approach includes validation, education and collaborative problem solving; as well as practical strategies such as pacing, trigger management and appropriate movement. She is the co-founder of Connection Medicine Co., a company which provides further education and support in this space.

In this episode, we chat about:

  • Jen’s journey to doing the wonderful work she does
  • What is chronic invisible illness
  • What are hypermobility disorders
  • What a journey to receiving support might look like with chronic invisible illness
  • The key pillars for supporting wellbeing
  • Specific strategies for POTS management
  • What is Connection Medicine Co. and the why behind it
  • A couple of great resources for health professionals and clients alike

Enjoy!

Nadia xx
