In order for government agencies to continue to innovate and take advantage of all the amazing technology out there, they need to expand beyond the traditional defense tech and government circles. But, doing this can be hard, and uncomfortable. In this episode of the GovFuture podcast we get the opportunity to talk to Pavan Gill. He is the Regional Director for Northern California & Nevada at National Security Innovation Network (NSIN).
Pavan shares with us how NSIN proactively fosters and supports the development of new communities of innovators, especially outside traditional defense and government circles. He also discusses how the venture capital and the startup ecosystem are helping with the development of cutting-edge defense technologies. Additionally, Pavan shares what industry can do better in terms of developing relationships with the government for defense tech and national security innovation. And, on the flip side, what can government do better. Lastly, Pavan shares both the opportunities and challenges startups will face when entering the defense technology market. This was a great podcast discussion filled with insights for both the innovation ecosystems and public sector agencies alike.
