It is challenging running an Accounting firm in Australia these days. Keeping up to date with constant legislative changes, a need for specialist input, adapting to new technology, dealing with cybersecurity and ensuring excellent client service are only some of the ongoing issues.

That's why we have created a podcast, specifically designed to provide advice to accounting practices who might not have the resources or time to be across all of the needs of their clients.

Each episode will feature one of our Partners/Senior Executives focusing on a particular area of their expertise.

Episode 1: The changing landscape of SMSF services: what Accountants need to know about the new regulations

Join us for our inaugural podcast episode where our host Andrew Ford interviews Nexia Melbourne’s Partner of Business Advisory and Superannuation, Tino Di Battista.

In this episode we discuss Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSF), and some important upcoming legislation changes.

Tino explains the changes relating to compliance and audit of SMSFs starting July 2021 and the changes accounting firms must make when appointing an auditor for their clients SMSFs. The previous working relationships of round-robin audits will no longer apply and firms will need to re-assess how to service their clients.

Tino has over 30 years of experience within the accountancy profession and financial services industry. He has extensive experience across a diverse range of clients and industries and draws on this experience to provide clients with innovative strategies to drive business growth.
