Simon's appearance give us a chance to look at retirement in a different way. Having debuted for Western Australia in 2013, after successes he encountered problems with his bowling action. Thoughts of giving up the game were never far away. Instead, even after leaving WA in 2020 he has remained committed to playing first class cricket and has been rewarded with a return with Victoria where he is now based.
