🇬🇧 HORS-SERIE [3/3] "Freed the speech", they say by Lisa Schmidt & Céline Feldmann, experts in German criminal law - ACTE III

If you are not speaking French and can’t understand the two first episodes, I would invite you to listen the episode of Adélaïde on Unmatch me now before listening to this one to understand the context.

This series “LibĂ©rez la parole” ("Freed the speech"), all started when I heard AdelaĂŻde’s testimony on the 118 episode of Unmatch me Now "KEEP THE FU$%ING CONDOM".

Adelaide is a victim of stealthing, which means that her sexual partner took the condom off without our consent. She filled in a complaint. The state attorney didn’t even pursue the case, because of the lack of proof.

She talked on my podcast, and then other girls talked about their own experience with sexual assaults when they had to face the police, and then the justice. The charges were dropped for all of them.

After hearing all these testimonies, I wanted to understand the spirit of the law in Germany regarding penalisation of sexual violences.

Sexual assaults and violences are difficult to penalise because most of the time it happens between two peoples, without any witness. But not only. There is also a deep rooted system belief, that the victim is to blame. She must have done something. She is probably exaggerating, perhaps even lying.

I won’t say more. I will just invite you to listen to Lisa Schmidt and CĂ©line Feldmann, two experts in sexual and rape law in Germany.

!TW! We are going to talk about sexual violences. Only listen if you feel comfortable enough with this topic.
