This episode is a little different.
I sat down with my dad for a quiet, honest conversation about life, people, and what he’s learned over 20 years as a leadership consultant and psychotherapist working with humans in all kinds of systems, families, and organisations.
We talk about how people really work. Why behaviour makes sense when you understand what’s going on underneath. How emotions shape everything. Why conflict usually isn’t about the thing we think it is. And what happens when we stop trying to fix people and start learning how to understand them.
Bart's approach has been extremely successful across both sport and business. In the Irish sporting world, he has worked closely with leading inter-county GAA managers, including Pat Gilroy, Mickey Harte, and Jack O’Connor, during periods that went on to produce multiple All-Ireland titles. His work has also extended into the business world, supporting some of Ireland's most senior and respected CEOs.
Recording this felt meaningful. These are conversations I’ve been learning from my whole life, and I’m grateful to finally share one with you.
