Based on the Sierra Leone National Lifeskills manual “I am somebody”, this podcast is developed from recordings prepared for airing on Education Radio as part of the Radio Teaching Programme by the Teaching Service Commission and Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education while schools are closed due to Coronavirus mitigration measures. The programme is aired from 7:30-8pm five days per week (Monday to Friday) on 95.3fm targeting both in and out of school adolescent girls and boys aged 14-19.

Why do you think we choose this topic? As an adolescent you will be faced with situations what will require you to decide if you have the courage to stand up for justice. Through this episode you will see that anyone can be a leader and in fact you are a leader in your own life and community.

After this episode, you will be able to:

i) Consider the things that you are willing to stand up for

ii) Understand that anyone can be a leader

iii) Reflect on real life issues that require leadership during adolescence

iv) Practice leadership skills
