Ep. 197 | Creating a Safer, Healthier Relationship With Social Media

Welcome back to another episode of the I Do Wedding Marketing Podcast! Today I’m talking about what to do when social media no longer feels like a safe place - and how to rebuild a healthier, more supportive relationship with it, especially as a business owner.

I share my own experience of stepping away from social media because being seen felt overwhelming, judgment-filled, and emotionally draining, even while working in social media professionally. From there, I walk through the exact mindset shifts and practical steps that helped me go from hiding online to confidently showing up again.

✨ In this episode, I share how to:

  • Protect your digital space by curating who and what shows up in your feed

  • Use muting, snoozing, unfollowing, and blocking as tools - not guilt trips

  • Recognize emotional triggers like comparison, imposter syndrome, and anxiety

  • Gradually get comfortable showing your face online (at your own pace)

  • Reframe social media as a positive, powerful tool for visibility and growth

  • Train the algorithm to support you instead of stress you out

Social media has become an extension of ourselves, and if it feels unsafe, overwhelming, or draining, it makes sense to pull away. But with the right boundaries and tools, it can become a positive, supportive place again.

If I told you the very next thing you posted could connect you with your next booking… would you give it a try?

Thank you so much for being here, for listening, and for trusting me with your time. And from me to you, happy holidays from the I Do Wedding Marketing Podcast. ✨
