On this Entertainment Monday, Ms. B and I opened the show by reflecting on our Thanksgiving weekend highlights. Ms. B shared her joyful and eventful weekend that began early, with her best friend flying in from Atlanta for the holiday festivities. For me, the most meaningful moment was celebrating my daughter Bianca’s 15th birthday — a milestone that made the weekend unforgettable.
From there, we dove into tonight’s main discussion: the vibrant and rapidly growing entertainment scene for African immigrants in the northwest suburbs. With the soft opening of the brand-new Casa Afrique Lounge in Brooklyn Park, the area now features a strong lineup of cultural hotspots — including Jambo, Purple Rose Lounge, and Oro Lounge — giving the Twin Cities community a variety of exciting nightlife and entertainment options.
This was a fun, lively, and culture-rich segment celebrating the energy, creativity, and growth of African entertainment spaces right here in Minnesota. A perfect way to kick off December.
