I will have many conversations with those on the same journey, from teachers, from those teaching their kids, and really anyone who wants to have a conversation about language! In this episode, I spoke with Martha Summerlin, a self-proclaimed language nerd, proud introvert and cat fan. When she isn’t buried in books or thinking about how language works, you can find her exploring one of North Carolina’s beautiful parks, trying out a new coffee shop or talking your ear off about the marvels of baseball and Formula 1. Having studied sociolinguistics (the study of people’s attitudes towards dialects and accents) she’s passionate about sharing the value of each dialect and language and what they have to teach us about each other.
