Professor Lisa Ramsey on Non-Traditional Trademarks

The California Lawyers Association is the bar association for all California attorneys. Our mission is to promote excellence, diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and fairness in the administration of justice and the rule of law.

In this episode, I’ll be talking to Professor Lisa Ramsey. Lisa is a Professor of Law at the University of San Diego School of Law, where she teaches and writes in the areas of trademark law, intellectual property, and international intellectual property. We talk about her path to legal academia, why she fell in love with IP, and we get into the weeds of her current academic focus, which is non-traditional trademarks.

Save the Date for the IP in Entertainment & Media Conference which will be held May 29, 2020 at the UCLA Luskin Center.

We have several MCLE webinars coming up soon, including one on Cookies, Consent and Advertising Technology Under the CCPA and one on Emojis and the Law.

For information about the conference and the webinars, you can go to our website, http://calawyers.org/IPEvents

If you’re interested in joining the Intellectual Property Law Section of the California Lawyers Association, visit calawyers.org/joinip

Finally, if you want to send us an email about the show, you can send it to IPPodcast@CALawyers.org – we look forward to hearing from you. I’m looking forward to speaking with you next time on Intangible Assets.
