Episode 8: The Potential for NLP to Reduce Administrative Burden in Healthcare with Dr. Alexander Ryu
In Episode 8, we welcome Dr. Alexander Ryu to the podcast. Dr. Ryu is a physician data-scientist in hospital internal medicine. In his practice, he cares for acutely ill, hospitalized patients with a variety of health conditions. Dr. Ryu also develops and studies artificial intelligence and machine-learning tools that can improve care for his patients. In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Ryu contributes to resident and medical student education on inpatient teaching services. We had a wonderful conversation about the promise and potential of AI to reduce administrative burden in healthcare. We specifically discussed large language models and natural language processing, as well how clinicians might begin their exploration of these tools.
