In the summer of 1976 two English men fresh out of Prison in England came to Ireland to fulfil their plans of Kidnapping “A woman a week”. These two men were named John Shaw and Geoffrey Evans

On August 28th, 1976, Shaw and Evans abducted Elizabeth Plunket and Proceeded to rape her repeatedly and Murder her

Then on the night of September 22nd, 1976, Shaw and Evans abducted Mary Duffy and then also raped her repeatedly and Murdered her

On September 29th 1976 the two men were charged with the murder of Mary Duffy and Elizabeth Plunkett
