Janelle Wong, Ph.D. is a professor and scholar of race and politics with specialization in Asian American politics. She is also the co-Director of the Montgomery County Progressive Asian American Network in Maryland. Dr. Wong has been active in campaigns to support race-conscious admissions and the racial integration of public schools, particularly magnet and specialized programs. She is a member of her local county NAACP Parent Council and the Black and Brown Coalition for Educational Equity and Excellence. She grew up in Yuba City, California, one of the most diverse rural places in the United States of America.
