I just got tired of the random redefining of what it is to be Black, or who's a real Black man. It's Always Personal is an attempt to expand on the most widely accepted examples, and stand alone (probably) as a new archetype to be considered. The mission of this podcast is to hold conversations that question what the masses seem disinterested in challenging, to illuminate the Black entertainment that often goes unnoticed, and to interview guests who can assist with completing IAP's said mission. Life just simply isn't about being entertained at all costs.

In a recent episode Wood explained that he couldn't find a podcast on Spousal Grief that "fed" his needs - during his difficult moment of mourning and loss. So he revisits the recent passing of his wife, finding respite on the Reddit r/widowers board and delves into the versions of a man he's needed to be in his early foray into his current journey.

ALL of the podcasters and media folk JUST unconditionally loved Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl halftime performance. Okay. Well, this presents the next hill that Wood apparently has to die on, alone, in order to take a slightly different look at K Dot's 13-minute history making set.
