Despite not really being a Disney movie, Bandslam has the trappings of a musical film made by the mouse machine, with two of its stars as leads (Vanessa Hudgens and Aly Michalka). Marketed as the "Next High School " by Summit Entertainment, Bandslam underperformed at the box office but was praised by critics and audiences alike.
