Ep 6 - Adam from Avon Dog Services - Dog Behaviour Part 1

Part 1 - Dog Behaviour - The Basics

Adam knew from a pretty young age that dog training and dog behaviour was something that he was interested in.  Growing up with German Shepherds he started young, taking his first dog to training classes and then onto studying the subject.

During this episode we discuss

  • What is a dog trainer vs dog behaviourist
  • How has this changed over the last 20-30 years and what has caused the change
  • How us owners can help our dogs with undesirable behaviours such as lead pulling, jumping up, frustration etc
  • Does using a water pistol help stop a dog barking?
  • What are we doing as owners that actually maybe creating problems without us even realising.
  • What do you always think of when you hear someone tap on a wine glass?  I fell into Adam's trap!

You will probably be able to hear my brain working during this fascinating & fun discussion!  You can find out more about Adam
