In todays episode I talk to Anna about her infertility journey. Anna was diagnosed with PCOS after realizing her cycles were irregular. She didn’t respond well to the fertility drugs to help her ovulate, so the next step was IVF. Anna lived in rural QLD and had to travel 2000km to Brisbane to seek fertility treatment. She goes into depth about her miscarriages, including a hospital stay that wasn’t well managed by the staff. Anna went through a few IVF stimulated cycles and many transfers, she changed fertility specialists a few times as she felt like there was more to investigate. She is a big believer in advocating for yourself and asking questions. She had two laparoscopies with two different specialists, finding mild endometriosis. In her last stimulated cycle, she had her embryos PGS and was on an immune protocol for a DQ alpha gene match. At the time of recording, Anna was 28 weeks pregnant.
