This is my Techno Bootleg of P J Harvey's "Down By The Water.' The original track was released in Feb 1995. It's always been one of my favourites so I thought I'd make a techno version of it that I could play in my DJ sets and radio shows.

This is my entry for the Beat Collective Challenge for May 2025 in which participants are given some samples and asked to incorporate them into an original track.
This month's samples are from the Ableton May newsletter's featured artist quickly, quickly and are called entertheroom, loopme & urfreakingmeout
entertheroom I used the first part of the sample as a riser at various places in the track.
loopme I converted the melody to a new midi then used that melody with a Serum patch to create one of the lead instruments
urfreakingmeout I used in both breakdowns as a drone sound and also at the end of musical phrases.
