Episode 7"〜そうです" — Seen info? Heard info? | Koalas’ Tricky Japanese

Welcome back to Koalas’ Tricky Japanese 🐨✨ — Koatori for short!

In Episode 7, we dig into one super useful but *super tricky* phrase: 「〜そうです」 (sou desu).

👉 Seen info = looks / seems

👉 Heard info = I heard / they say

Examples:

・このケーキ、おいしそうです。= This cake looks delicious.

・先生は忙しいそうです。= I heard the teacher is busy.

Same “そう,” totally different meanings! 🤯

To make it even trickier, “おいしいそうです” is actually wrong — it changes the meaning completely.

This tiny phrase pops up in everyday Japanese and even in the JLPT.

Learn the difference, avoid the common mistakes, and impress your Japanese friends!

Laugh a little, learn a lot, and make Japanese less tricky with Koatori! 🎧
