The original Jazz Bear, Jon Absey, joined Jazzed to talk about how he got the job and how he was almost too afraid to accept it. Jon shares so many stories about life as the Bear - from how much water weight he would lose each game to how many injuries he had and how many appearances he'd make on an annual basis. Jon takes us back to the "glory days" of the Jazz and how he got in Coach Sloan's doghouse after he played a friendly prank inside the locker room. He also shares a fun memory about calling Larry Miller "too much" after the late owner of the Jazz gave him his phone number. Jon had so many experiences as Bear over the years but perhaps none was more impactful than when he could make a child smile.
