History doesn't repeat but it does rhyme. When I graduated in 2011 with a Master's Degree in the Roman Empire, I didn't think I'd be this relevant in 2024. This channel looks at the history of Rome's rise and fall and relates it to the modern day, most closely to what's happening in America. We seek to understand the problems of Rome, recognize their solutions and hopefully preserve our civilization.

How One Man Rebuilt a Collapsing Empire

Rome wasn’t just in crisis—it was shattered.Three rival empires. Fifty emperors in fifty years. Hyperinflation, invasions, collapse on every border. And into this chaos stepped one man: Lucius Domitius Aurelianus, the forgotten emperor who saved Rome in just 1,825 days.In this video, we break down how Aurelian reunited the empire, defeated Zenobia, ended the Gallic breakaway state, rebuilt Rome’s economy, crushed the invasions, and constructed the Aurelian Walls—fortifications that symbolized Rome’s rebirth. He was called Restitutor Orbis — Restorer of the World. But the man who saved Rome was murdered by his own secretary. If you want to understand how fragile empires fall—and how they can be saved—Aurelian’s story is the blueprint.CHAPTERS:00:00 - Rome was dying00:51 - The 3rd Century Crisis01:23 - Aurelian's Reforms06:37 - Rome's Survival for 200 Years
