Henry Thomas Bosdet was born in Jersey on 7 January 1856, after spending his early years in the Island he moved to London around the 1860s. By age 17 he was a student at the Royal Academy. Bosdet’s seven year training at the Royal Academy was broad and included life drawing, fine art, architecture and glasswork at a time when Pre-Raphaelite art had become the accepted style.
