Flight 29 with Bilal Powell, Woody Speaks and the Pressure Builds in New York

Bilal Powell and Rami Lavi are back talking about the New York Jets and wishing there were better things to say. Whenever Woody Johnson speaks, it usually means bad news for the team, and this week was no different. Woody openly criticized Justin Fields, saying if the Jets could just complete a pass that would be progress.
Bilal shares his thoughts on Woody’s history with quarterbacks, remembering when Woody used to ask why Mark Sanchez was always getting sacked. The conversation turns to how those comments create pressure on the coaching staff and the players about who should start under center.
Bilal talks about what real leadership looks like from a quarterback, the energy they bring, and how words mean nothing without action. Breece Hall is also part of the discussion as Bilal explains why being one of the top running backs in the league comes with responsibility. You cannot make excuses about not being the coach’s guy, you keep your head down and work.
The possibility of Breece being on the trade market is explored as well. Bilal closes out the show with his top three running backs of the week and a look ahead to the Jets vs Bengals matchup, where he expects Tyrod Taylor to have the team playing better.
