It was a good weekend for the Winnipeg Jets -- there’s no getting around that.
It’s exactly what the team needed, and the fan base as well.
The Jets picked up two wins, a 5-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Friday and a 4-3 win against the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. It felt good. No question about it.
Winning, after all, beats losing.
But despite the momentum, the Jets still sit second-last overall in the NHL and remain nine points out of a playoff spot, with seven teams they’d need to leapfrog to reach the postseason.
That makes the climb very steep -- which the oddsmakers say is too steep with 38 games remaining.
Play-by-play voice Paul Edmonds joins the show to break down what went right over the weekend.
Plus, it sounds like defenseman Luke Schenn could soon be on the move. If so, when might that happen -- if it happens at all?
All that and more on today’s edition of Jets @ Noon.
