In 2001, the only way to build a DJ career was word of mouth. There was no Facebook or Instagram. Or SoundCloud. For people to hear my sound and build a name, I had to reach and impress them in person. Impress them enough to reach the ears of someone in charge. Getting booked and being well received at a Cherry Afterhours in the Northeast region, where I needed a break to build my name, remains a pivotal part of my DJ journey. My career accelerated from first to third gear in one night.
