Experience America’s favorite least favorite TV judge with the Judging Judy comedy podcast, the only show that turns the tables to decide if Judy Shendlin is innocent — or guilty. Each week, we take a fun look back at an episode from the extensive, 25+ year archives of Judge Judy telecasts. You’ll get a refresher for what was going on in the world when the episode originally aired plus a one-of-a-kind play-by-play of the cases that came before Judy that day in court.

More importantly, and more hilariously, you’ll get a critique of Judy herself: her antics, her decisions, her mood and much, much more.

For fans of podcasts like Doughboys, Comedy Bang Bang, Cinephobe and All Fantasy Everything, Judging Judy is the nostalgic, pop-culture podcast that takes seriously its duty to judge Judy.

Judging Judy #1 - Why DID the Dog Cross the Road? | comedy podcast
A gruesome dog murder! Unpaid Best Buy credit cards! Father daughter strife! A judge who won't take being sassed -- this episode's got it all! Will the judge rule in favor of Milton who had to carry his dead Norfolk Terrier in his arms or will he side with Sandi who, quite literally ,had no blood on her hands. Will she side with Gary, the dad on disability, or Tanisha, who felt owed a few housewarming gifts after a lifetime of paternal neglect. You'll have to listen to find out!
In our inaugural recording, we jump into an episode originally televised in 2021 -- you remember, back when no one knew who or what a Pete Hegseth was! Anyway, just in case you're coming to this podcast having just listened to a certain other podcast, hosted by a certain Amy Poehler, Judging Judy is different! Here, we have no access. We have no budget. We have no standing. But we do have the right to Judge Judy...finally!
In each podcast, we'll review the cases that entered Judy's court, sure, but we'll also examine the Judge herself. Did she treat the plaintiff and the defendant fairly? Did she deliver an honest, unbiased verdict? Did she roll her eyes so much that it kind of...became annoying? We get to determine whether Judy's the guilty one this time.
Plus, given the 25+ years Judy spent on the airwaves, we'll take a little look at what was going on in the world when the episode aired. Because, the truth is, Judge Judy didn't exist in a vacuum. Otherwise, instead of yelling over her, she would have been screaming, 'Ahh, get me out of this vacuum!'. No, instead, Judy is a symbol of the society we existed on. We kept her on the airwaves because she was us. Judy was our proxy; we judged those who entered her courtroom through her.
At Judging Judy, we're not afraid to cast judgement either. However, instead of a gavel, I'll have to be content using my voice. Unless, well, I could get a gavel...
Judging Judy is offbeat, and perfect for fans of podcasts like Doughboys, How Did It Get Made?, Judge John Hodgeman, Comedy Bang Bang and Cinephobe. I'd also say it's perfect for fans of Ben Schwartz, and that means anything from Bojack Horseman to Parks & Recreation -- heck, even Sonic the Hedgehog. And if we consider Sonic, we've got to consider Jim Carrey. Think of all the great things Jim Carrey has been in and most of them align pretty closely with Judging Judy. I mean, Liar Liar is a perfect example! And the Mask! And Dumb and Dumber. I think it's less like Ace Ventura and probably not at all like the Truman Show.
Would Harry S Truman, former President, have enjoyed Judging Judy? I think he'd first have to overcome the strange novelty of a podcast. We are assuming, I presume, that the first thing Harry S Truman would experience after being brought back from the dead would be Judging Judy, the silly podcast bout the silly TV courtroom judge, right? In that case, I can not say for sure if he'd enjoy the podcast. He'd probably be upset about all of his loved ones being dead. He might be upset, too, at the world in general. After that, though, I can guarantee that Harry S Truman would definitely at least listen to Judging Judy.
Would other presidents enjoy the show? Definitely Obama. Definitely Taft. Maybe Van Buren. Maybe Van Buren, indeed.
