Captain Chip Michalove is a living legend. He's a true pioneer in the fishing world who has caught more Great White Sharks on rod and reel than anyone else in human history. If you've ever seen Jaws and thought it looked crazy, Chip does that in real life and there are no special effects. Chip took us through his journey from being a kid from Kentucky and becoming hooked on shark fishing, all the way to becoming a captain and making a living doing what he loved. His story really took an exponentially wild turn when he set out to be the first person to regularly catch Great Whites on rod and reel in the Atlantic Ocean. Like finding a needle in an ocean sized haystack, he tried EVERYTHING until he struck gold. One winter day he hooked into a 1,000+ lb. Great White and has been the go-to guy for catching them ever since. His story is incredible and we talked for so long, we had to split it into 2 parts!
