Knowing … Music Therapy
On this episode of Knowing Me, Knowing You, Trent is joined by music therapist, Luke Thorne, to get a better understanding of what music therapy is.
Luke works in private practice with his business Crescendo Music Therapy, which sees him work within the NDIS and supporting people with disabilities to improve their wellbeing. Luke has also worked as a disability support worker for over 10 years, has his Masters of Music Therapy, a Bachelors degree in Music Performance, as well as extensive experience writing and recording his own music. Together, Trent and Luke discuss:

* What sparked Luke’s interest as an artist, and as a music therapist,
* What music therapy is, how it can help and who it can help,
* The benefits of music therapy for pain management, as well as
* The different life domains in which music therapy can focus support.

Please keep in mind, the discussions, topics, and advice provided as part of this podcast are general in nature. They should not replace specific and individualised mental health support that might be needed. If you are experiencing mental health concerns, you can visit the Joy Radio support page for assistance and guidance at: https://www.joy.org.au/support
