In this episode po, I’ll talk about the ever-relevant issue of screen time and how it impacts our preteens’ behavior at home and our family dynamics. As an interracial Filipino-Dutch family living in the Netherlands, we recently switched to a negotiation parenting approach — inspired by Dutch culture — to solve (or at least try to solve) our screen time issues and improve discipline here at home. I’ll compare Filipino parenting values with Western practices and reflect on the West vs East culture gap.
