Kakekà Thundersky
On this week’s episode of Land(ing) Back we’re joined by Kakekà Thundersky, a land defender and member of the Poplar River First Nation currently living in Winnipeg with her five-month-old baby girl, Tokala Wači Wiŋ. They discuss her journey to organizing spaces, and her experiences building community with other land defenders and water protectors. One of the seeds we will save from Kak’s episode is the beauty of relationship building that exists within movements and how important it is to make space for all of our relations who want to be involved in protecting our lands and waters. Miigwech for joining us, Kak!
