Josh and host T.J. Rives go back almost 15 years to Josh's time as a student and rising broadcaster at the Univ. of South Florida in Tampa. Now, he works in the booth for a significant game almost every week in "the league." For example, he and analyst Brandon Noble called the Detroit Lions win over the Washington Commanders in D.C. Sunday.
Josh and T.J. discuss the mechanics of identifying players from a high up perch location and how it can be difficult when the action is physically far from you. Plus, what kind of access do the national radio broadcasters get to the NFL coaches and players and therefore, how much do they have to hustle for the info?
Appel also discusses the wild circumstance of President Donald Trump being at the Commanders game Sunday just before Veterans Day. And, he relates what the security was like and has other stories about it, too.
