Stories of the shame we have experienced and caused others to experience in the Mormon church. My stories, your stories, we all have a story. We lie for the Lord, we shame for the Lord.
The Mormon church has done a lot of damage shaming people from the beginning. It started with Joseph Smith conning teenagers to marry him by shaming them into it. So the church comes by it honestly. We lie for the Lord, we shame for the Lord.
Sadly, we are even indoctrinated into the system so much we don't realize how much we shame each other. It happens. The Latter Day Shamed Podcast is here to help you understand so many of the ways you have been shamed and have been taught to shame others. If you have any questions or show suggestions or shame stories you would like me to share anonymously, please email them to: latterdayshamed@gmail.com
In this episode, I talk about the first traumatic shame incident I can remember in my life as a teenager. I bet you can relate.
Also calling for shame stories. If you have been shamed, and really, who hasn't, I'd like to hear your story. In your email, let me know if it's okay to use your first name or initials or if you would like to stay completely anonymous and if it's okay to read it on a future episode.
I came up with several categories of Shame and I list them in this episode.
