Skyler Ray grew up in foster homes, and was then homeless for many years. Often going between sleeping on side walks of downtown Portland or in a prison cell. Since his last prison release in 2018 he has refocused on his music that is primarily based off his life experiences dealing with addiction, incarceration, homelessness,etc. Skyler is a firm believer in spreading hope and giving back to the community he once helped destroy.
