Synopsis:
During Friday Night Dinner at the Gilmore mansion, Richard and Emily learn that Rory must choose a sport to play at Chilton. Emily concocts the plan to have Richard take Rory to their country club to give her golfing lessons. Lorelai is unsurprisingly opposed, fearing Rory will enjoy it. Emily deems her controlling, much to her chagrin.
At the Independence Inn, Lorelai is busy planning a lavish double wedding for spoiled, wealthy, twin brides. Although handling everything like a pro, Lorelai keeps worrying about Rory. Richard and Rory get off to an awkward start, with him expecting her to be a typical teen who’d prefer an afternoon at the mall. Richard and Rory bond over her love of literature and desire to travel.
That evening Rory & Lorelai meet up at Luke’s Diner. Lorelai is surprised and a little jealous that Rory had a “quite” good time with her grandfather. Her jealousy intensifies the next day after Richard calls to discuss a book with Rory. As a result, Lorelai picks a fight Rory over something as unrelated and trivial as borrowing a sweater.
Sookie helps Lorelai figure out the basis for her irrational behavior and Lorelai makes peace with Rory at the twin wedding.
