FORGIVENESS
1 John 1.9 tells us: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Most times we view forgiveness as something we give to others. I have come to realize that it also applies to ourselves. Many times in our lives, we have held grudges about how we handled a situation, the things we should have done but did not do. This line of thought can easily land us in a situation where we feel too dirty to go to God. That is exactly what the enemy wants. He will cloud your thoughts with nasty ideas that will lead you to think that you are not worthy of God's forgiveness. I just want to remind you that God doesn't forgive because we are worthy... it is only because He looks at the repentance in our hearts and the unconditional love He has for us.
Romans 8.28 -30 says: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
Each and every scar you bear will ultimately lead you to who you are meant to be, only if you let God do His magic. We were drowning, and He has brought us back to the surface. Do not let the shackles of past mistakes hold you down. The hurt you have carried will enable you to look at every victory coming your way in a new light!
