A Sword that Pierces the Heart (Luke 2:22-38)
Jesus was finally born, and Mary and Joseph went up to the temple to worship and sacrifice. Once there, they met Simeon and Ana. They were also excited to see Jesus, but Simeon recognized that not everyone would accept Jesus. In fact, Simeon saw that many would reject Jesus. Even Mary would have to accept Jesus and his hard words. Jesus was peace, but it requires us to humble ourselves to receive him. We take a closer look at the temple, Simeon's warning, and the word Hebrew for blessing.
