
Just over 38% of the adult population in the United States has high cholesterol. There is a link between high cholesterol and heart disease and stroke, two of the most common causes of mortality in the US.
However, not all fats are harmful, and just particular cholesterols are responsible for clogging our arteries. Vitamin D, hormones, and digestive juices are all dependent on cholesterol. It also aids in the normal functioning of your organs. The problem is, too much of anything is harmful.
